•  Key Points about SANOG VII

  • SANOG VII will be very important for sponsorship as SANOG has now gained it's own standing as the premier networking event in the South Asian region after the successful event in the region.

  • For the 1first time, it's being held in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, and home to the largest ISPs and Operators in India. Indian ISPs have been participating in huge numbers in previous SANOGs held in the region, and when held locally, we are sure to attract a huge number of engineers.

  • Due to the huge number of convenient flights between Mumbai and Middle East, a large participation of operators from West Asia (i.e, Middle East including Dubai, Saudi Arabia etc.) in SANOG is expected. The RIPE NCC and SANOG organizers feel that inclusion of these participants in SANOG would help both parties in creating reliable Internet Infrastructure.

  • The location of the meeting Mumbai, will attract much more engineers from around the world interested in visiting India. The temperature in January will be just right.

•  Demo @ Dinner

SANOG is a technical conference and the people networking part is the most important part of this event. In order to engineering and development people from sponsors closer to the users and engineers in the operational community, the Demo @ Dinner is held on the 7 th Day of the SANOG. This is designed similar to the Bear N' Gear format at NANOG.

The Demo @ Dinner event will provide sponsors table space around a hall to put two of their equipment for demonstration to participating engineers. Most vendors and sponsors also assign engineers to answer any questions the participants might have about different product and services from the sponsors.

•  Previous Sponsors

Prominent   Sponsors for previous SANOG meetings include Cisco, HP, Alcatel, Juniper, Loral, NTT Communications, World Link Communications, Microsoft, Lanka Tel,   Mercantile Communications, Infineon Technologies, Bharti Infotel, Procket Networks and Sun Microsystems amongst numerous other local sponsors.

SANOG meeting have permanent sponsorship and support from APNIC and the Internet Society.
